The World of Whistler 1834-1903 Time LIfe Art Book by Tom Prideaux 1974 Hardcover with Slipcase

This art book, The World of Whistler 1834- 1903 is one of the 28 volumes in the Time - Life Library of Art series. This used book is beautifully illustrated in color and black and white. There is a copy of Whistler’s etching of London’s Old Putney Bridge on the front endpaper. The back endpaper is decorated with a copy of an etching done by Whistler of a view of Riva degli Schiavonni.

This hardcover book comes with a slipcase. Pasted on the front of the slipcase is a reproduction of a detail from Whistler’s Nocturne in Blue and Gold: Old Battersea Bridge.

This art book is used but in good condition. This book is clean and unmarked with the exception of a few light spots on the half-title page. The corners of the slipcase are lightly bumped.

This copy is a 1974 reprint. There are 192 pages including bibliographical references, chronology of artists and an index.
